Description
What happens when you have a misty impression in your mind and express it on unstretched canvas pad with bold bright paint? As I developed this piece as I went along there was no plan or template to follow. The paint mixed on the canvas, in the brush and in the pallette as I pulled it out. Following my instincts, I imagined taking a walk among the lupines when I happened across a glowy yellow place illuminated by the bright yellow flowers. There nestled among the lupines was this special scene. They rise up on the hillside above the mist as if to say today will be a beautiful, sunny day. With its thick bold brush strokes this piece is full of texture, nice highlights and subtle shadows. The nuances change as the light changes in the room. Art.com used it in one of their ads in "Artist's Magazine" and they also showcased it in their online Newsletter to their "Original Art and Photography" group. "Glowy Clearing" is unusual and unique because of its expressionistlike bold and bright colors with an impressionistlike feel and theme. You just don't see this every day. I hope you want to jump in and go exploring.
